Teachers are specific individuals with certain traits or qualities that are hard to come by. One cannot become a good teacher simply because one wants to be one. Being a teacher means possessing certain traits that ensure that the pupils receive competent and qualified education from an individual who is certified. Teachers are also known as mentors, leaders, and sources of inspiration. These individuals have the potential to set students on their future paths or send students down into negative feedback loops due to poor teaching skills. Here are essential qualities every teacher must have to be active and competent in their work.
10. Endless Patience Across Age Groups
Teachers have to deal with different age group pupils. It means that teachers must have the patience to deal with the differences in cognitive and emotional ability across age groups. Certain ages will require more information and critical thinking assistance, while others will not. Good teachers are those who can handle this discrepancy. Instead of expecting too much from the students, the teacher will be able to tailor the information to the cognitive level of the students. Power dynamics are readily available in hierarchies, which are a biological aspect of the organization of society. It means that there is more power with someone and less energy with the other. While this is good to create a professional relationship between teachers and students, exploitation of this can result in harm to the student and their perspective of education. Teachers should have excellent emotional regulation abilities. Students and stress will test their patience. As we know that students are not of the same nature. Some are very calm whereas some of them are very agitated. The teacher should have the ability to tackle students of different characters in a quiet manner. The teacher sometimes has a psychological burn out from the job which they should handle carefully.
4. No Ideologue Tendencies: The Uses of Propaganda
Ideologues are those people who try to use propaganda to get others to think exactly like them and do not allow others to form opinions on their own. Teachers should not tell students what values are essential, what morals to follow, and what ideas to have. Students should be free to decide, and an effective teacher teaches them how to examine these values and beliefs without involving personal feelings critically.
3. Open-Minded not Preachy
In line with not being an ideologue, one essential quality a professor must have is that he should not be preachy. Teachers should not spend too much time telling students how to behave, how to think, how to speak, as these are personal choices a student makes about their personality and disposition. Preaching can happen to the parents as well: individual teachers should attempt to tell parents how to raise their child. While all of this is probably done with good intent, it takes away the ability of the person to determine their life and make their own choices and makes life more deterministic.

Reverse engineering concepts is a way of working back to the basics of theoretical concepts. The teacher tries to simplify the ideas for the understanding of a wide range of people and fields. This means that teachers should have thorough or in depth knowledge of their subject. When they have a comfortable level of knowledge about their subject, they will be able to answer questions and make the class more interesting. The most important quality for a teacher is humility. Authoritarianism is the quality where teachers attempt to control everything about students, where they try to make students turn out exactly like how they would like the student to be. It is because the teacher is narrow-minded and does not realize there exist different thoughts and opinions in a society which are permissible. In contrast, sound quality is humility, where teachers recognize that students are not pawns.
Teachers are crucial in forming the youth of the next generation: they influence opinions, thought patterns. Effective teachers do not exploit their position but focus on the improvement of the students. They try to put maximum effort to build a good career of the student.
