When I was a child, I remember sitting in front of the TV on Saturdays eagerly waiting to watch a new Disney movie. 10. Snow White
Snow white is regarded as the first Disney princess. Often described as the girl with hair black as ebony, lips as red as the rose and skin as white as the magical mirror, snow white is considered as the most loving and generous princess. Despite her being a princess she is down to earth and humble. With a sweet and melodious voice, snow white helps others who are hurt and cares for strangers with a smile. Rapunzel was denied the right to see or interact with the outside world and that arouse her curiosity to break free and begin a new life. She was determined and confident. She sets forth an example that beauty is not determined by your skin color alone. It’s the inner beauty of a person that matters the most. Although she stays with her overprotective father and has never been outside of the palace walls, she is determined when it comes to making decisions. She has her own beliefs and ideologies and rebels against her father’s wishes. Princess Jasmin has the most different outfit as she looks breathtaking in her crop top, harem pants and her headband. Thus exemplifying that a woman does not have to dress up in clothes for impressing others but the clothes that make her feel comfortable. While all other princesses have rats, birds, and rabbits for pets, Princess Jasmin has a tiger as her pet. Which shows how brave she is.
2. Belle – Beauty and The Beast
Often regarded as the strongest Disney princess, belle is also a feminist figure. She opposes to the rules laid by the society that a women’s life is confined to her kitchen and her family. Over the years due to her love for books and literature, she had gained a significant amount of intelligence which has helped her extend the horizons of her imagination, vocabulary, and creativity. She has an active mind and voices her opinion on everything. One of her best qualities is that she does not judge people based on their external appearance. She believes in seeing the goods of a human heart. This is one reason why she starts respecting the beast rather than being scared of him.
