10. Chandan Nagar, Pune
The small colony of Chandan Nagar in Pune has a little tale of terror residing within itself. About 10 years ago a little girl was killed in a construction site here. Since then the ghost of the girl is said to have haunted the place. The girl or rather the apparition of the girl is said to be appearing right when the clock strikes twelve at midnight in a white frock, a doll in her hands – the very description makes you literally jump out of your bed right away!! If this was not enough, then listen to this – she comes right at you screaming at the top of her voice if you happen to cross her path. Scared enough now, eh?
9. Tower of Silence, Mumbai
A site for Parsi cemetery located near Malabar Hills in Mumbai, Tower of Silence is home to several corpses which were left alone at the rooftop for the vultures to feed upon – a belief of the Parsi community. But the twist of the tale comes as the paranormal activities that became a common happening therein. Being an 80 year old building coupled with the desolate winding road that leads down the hill, the place is quite spooky and is one of the most famous haunted places in India.

It is one of the oldest cemeteries in Kolkata built in 1767. Many people have reported apparition sightings in white dress and even reported strange kind of uneasiness after visiting the place. It is one of the most talked about haunted places in Kolkata, making it one of the top 10 haunted places in India as well.
7. Fernhill Hotel, Ooty
Fernhill Hotel is one of those hotels which guarantee your sleepless nights. Currently shut down for repeated reporting of supernatural occurrences, Fernhill Hotel came into spotlight with the blockbuster Bollywood movie Raaz when choreographer Saroj Khan and her troupe checked in late at night into the hotel but were kept sleepless because of the noise created by someone arranging furniture on the above floor. Later on, when they called up at the reception the phone was dead and when someone actually went downstairs to complain, they realized that there was no floor above their rooms.
6. Aleya Ghost Lights, West Bengal
Reported mostly by the local fishermen, Aleya Ghost Lights are the unexplainable marsh lights in and around West Bengal water borders. These lights are said to confuse fishermen causing them to lose their route leading many incidents of deaths by drowning. Locals believe that these strange lights hovering on the water bodies are actually the restless spirits of fishermen who died fishing.

Known for its architectural brilliance carved on its walls the Shaniwarwada Fort has witnessed several spooky incidences over the period of time.it is believed that the supernatural occurrences achieve their zenith on every full moon night. The story behind all of these supernatural happenings is a brutal and bone-chilling murder of a young prince who died a horrific death in this place. The shrieking voice in the middle of the nights is said to be that of the terrified boy’s whose all the screams for rescue went into vain while death confronted him in the most brutal way.
3. Jatinga, Assam
Having a population of approximately 2500 residents Jatinga is a village in Assam famous for mass bird suicides. The migratory birds that visit the place never leave the village dropping dead for reason on the streets. It is one of the strangest phenomenons which are beyond any logical explanation. The case gets even more interesting as all the deaths happen between 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. on the moonless nights of the months of September and October. Further to make the case more strange, these suicides or whatever you may call them, happen only on a particular stretch of land which measures 1 mile by 600 feet. This is a constant happening every year without a break for more than a century now.
2. House No. W-3, Greater Kailash, New Delhi
Not an ordinary tale and definitely not out of the pages of pulp fiction, the tale surrounding the House No. W-3 in Greater Kailash area of New Delhi is a true incident that has cast a spell of fear over everyone, especially on those who live nearby. The house was home to an elderly couple who were brutally murdered in cold blood in their own home. The house has been left as a deserted place since then and muffled laughter, strange whisperings and voices are reported from the house every now and then.

The fort is considered doomed now for eternity since then. Even though it is promoted as one of the tourist destinations, there is a strict restriction by the government officials itself on entering the fort at night because of several mishaps in the past.
